An internship is the most import phase of any student’s life. It gives the real-time experience. I got an opportunity to do an internship at Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-informatics. I am here to share my work as well as my experience about the internship.
My self Meet R. Shah, I am currently pursuing knowledge in B.Tech in the filed of Information Technology in Charusat University. It was a one month internship from 5th June,2021 to 10th July,2021. I have worked on a project titled as “Industrial visiting portal using JavaScript and php” in a group of 3 people. It was an amazing experience to work as an intern.
About the project and work: -
- It is a specific web-based reservation system designed to make it easier for college people to book industrial tour packages online.
- Admin access the modules such as adding users, package details. System allows admin to view all the booking details as well as the user details.
- User need to register in order to login and access the inner modules. User may login and view various industrial tour and travel destinations with the package details and pricing for each person.
- Each one’s amenities type is shown in the system with image and respective costing.
- The user may then pay via razor pay payment gateway. User can view all their previous and current booking details.
Scope:
- Nowadays, students struggle to plan for their Industrial Visit and they are much worried about the execution of plans with travel agents.
- This project helps them to book their Industrial Visit overnight. There are lots of tour planning website but no one provides service for college students for their Industrial Visits and it is needed, as the students are much concerned about their executing the Industrial Visit plan successfully.
- This project helps the students in accomplishing their Industrial Visit package with no mean of time and even they can book at last minute with the available companies.
Motivation: -
The Industrial Visit experience which we had, made me to do this project. We have tried to satisfy all the requirements that has to be taken care of during the planning and booking phase of Industrial Visit.
Flow of the project: -
- First of all, user need to register to access the website.
- After the successful registration, the user will be redirected to the home page of the website where user can see the different industry details and if any user wants to visit the industry, they have to send a request to the admin.
- After the admin accepts the request, user will be redirected to booking page, where the user can make the payment via razor pay.
- User can also see the booking details.
- The role of the admin is to add the user, to add different tour packages by contacting the different industries, to see the whole data of all the users and the booking details.
Functional Requirements:
- Every online booking needs to be associated with an account. One account cannot be associated with multiple users.
- System should only allow users to move to payment only when mandatory fields such as date, time, location has been mentioned.
- User should register first to access the different tour packages.
- After the admin accepts the request, user will be able to book the particular package and pay for that.
- Booking confirmation should be sent to user to the specified contact details.
Non-functional requirements: -
- Use of md5 encryption and decryption technique to add the security for all the users.
- Also, we added the unique ID generation for every user for the security purposes.
- System is reliable and easy to use.
Future enhancements: -
To pay for the tour package, we have only use the razor pay payment gateway. In future, we will include different payment gateways like google pay, paytm, etc.
